Arturia MIDI Controller 430301 Editorial Review
The Arturia Keystep MK2 has emerged as a favored choice among musicians and producers looking for a versatile portable MIDI controller, sequencer, and arpeggiator. This compact instrument, featuring 32 slim keys and an OLED display, is praised for its robust connectivity options, making it compatible with a wide range of devices from polysynths to mobile phones. A standout feature is its aftertouch sensitivity, which adds a layer of expressiveness to performances. Many users express their enthusiasm, highlighting their intention to purchase additional units due to their high satisfaction with the MK2's functionality. While the device's lightweight plastic Construction has drawn some criticism, many users feel that it’s an acceptable compromise given the overall performance and features offered. The sequencer capabilities, particularly the polyphonic step sequencing and 16 modes, elevate its usability, making it a strong contender in its category. However, some reviews noted that for the price point, the build quality could be improved, with a desire for more metal components over plastic. Furthermore, there have been some comments regarding the pricing relative to the upgrades from the first generation, with some feeling that the changes were not substantial enough to justify the higher cost. Overall, the Arturia Keystep MK2 seems to resonate well with musicians seeking a functional and compact MIDI tool that doesn’t skimp on essential features, although some users have reservations about the pricing and materials used. **
