responder: No, it's not needed to use the unit. This attachment is used for bleeding brakes. It's sold separate as an add-on and does not come with the unit. -

I'm having trouble seeing what this accessory does? Why do you need to do anything additional beyond attaching a vacuum source?
responder: It allows you to bleed the brakes, it is possible to bleed the brakes without it, but the on/off valve and the end link design for the bleeder screw makes it a lot easier and IMO worth purchasing the attachment. -

responder: Don't know, but the Griots' model looks identical to the Mityvac I own. Take OD measurements of adaptor shown in the photo and tele the Griot people. -

responder: Yes, there are 2 different diameter 3-foot length plastic hoses and rubber adaptors to connect the hoses. The brake bleeder hose kit is available separately. -

responder: Not sure it works with the MV7201, but it does work with the Mityvac 7400. -

The attachment includes an on/off valve and end link design for the bleeder screw which make the brake bleeding process easier. The kit comes with two different diameter 3-foot length plastic hoses, rubber adaptors and is available separately from the main unit. The tank connector diameter is 3/8 NPT and it works with the Mityvac 7400. Customer reception: The Mityvac 7205 Brake Bleed Conversion Kit has received mainly positive feedback from customers who appreciate its usefulness in brake bleeding and fluid extraction from other machines such as lawn mowers. The product has been described as a great tool for one-person brake bleeding, and it is reported to work great and as advertised. Some customers have used it to bleed Wilwood 6 piston, and 4 piston brakes which made things much easier.
