When in the full upright position, the distance from the wall to the edge of the seat is 37 inches. The frame is 8" from floor to bottom and 10" from the floor to the top of the frame in a flat position. The futon frame can hold up to 350lbs, and it is very easy to fold into a couch even with a 10" mattress. The frame comes with no brackets to keep the mattress from sliding off, but a regular box-spring futon mattress stays in place. The assembly process requires some tools and skills, and it takes less than two hours to complete. The mattress is not included, so customers need to buy it separately. The futon can also be disassembled, but the manufacturer does not recommend doing so regularly. The unit is adjustable and easy to fold and transport, and the wheels help with mobility.
