The filters are designed in the USA but made in China. According to the VEVA customer support, the foam gasket is sealed tightly to the edge of the filter frame and there's no blow by as well. The carbon filters can be cleaned with dish cleaning soap like Dawn in warm water, but the pleated filter is throwaway. Customers find the product good, affordable and effective.
