The Captain is Dead by Alderac Entertainment Group is a highly recommended cooperative board game that allows up to seven players to choose from 18 different crew members, each with their own unique abilities. The game is set on a starship and involves working together to fix the broken jump drive, defend against attacking aliens and repair other ship systems. The game is set on different difficulty levels and becomes more complex, tense and exciting as it progresses. Although it can take a half to a whole game to get familiarised with the rules, this does not affect the replay value, and players are urged not to command other players what to do. Overall, it is an excellent strategic board game that is easy to learn, challenging to play, and has a high level of replayability.
